Also called cellular slime mold. 2. Any of various eukaryotic organisms of the class Myxogastria (formerly Myxomycetes) that develop from amoeboid cells into a large multinucleate plasmodium that produces stalked sporangia. Also called myxomycete, plasmodial slime mold. |
