Some compound words (like bus rapid transit, dog whistle, or identity theft) don’t appear on the drop-down list when you type them in the search bar. For best results with compound words, place a quotation mark before the compound word in the search window.

(strə-bĭzməs)

A visual defect in which one eye cannot focus with the other on an object because of imbalance of the eye muscles. Also called squint.

[New Latin, from Greek strabismos, condition of squinting, from strabizein, to squint, from strabos, squinting; see streb(h)- in the Appendix of Indo-European roots.]
