big·horn sheep (bĭghôrn′)
n. pl. bighorn sheep
A wild sheep (Ovis canadensis) of the mountains of western North America, having a brownish coat and, in the male, massive curved horns. Also called bighorn, mountain sheep, Rocky Mountain sheep.
